Fortunately, by week 2, my grandnephew was able to open his eyes. He was at the hospital for another 2 months, and later got transferred to a rehabilitation center.  I can say today, despite all the difficulties we continue to go through, we are glad to have my grandnephew at home with us instead at a group home.  He has 2 to 3 therapist sessions daily.

At home, my husband and I are raising my grandnephew and also helping to raise our grandson.  We have 3 wonderful grown children that we are very proud of. We are a dedicated family that loves to give back to the community.

My responsibility is making sure Genesa Home Care is the best home care agency it can be. I set the vision and goals for the agency and, hire compassionate, smart, dedicated and honest people. The management team and I meet daily to make sure the day-to-day operations run as smoothly as possible. Ultimately, our client satisfaction is the number one priority for us at Genesa Home Care.

Genesa Home Care & Companionship Agency is one of the newest, but most established, private duty home care agencies in Ulster, Orange & Dutchess Counties, New York.

Before starting GHCCA, I spent 16 years as a computer programmer with NYS DMV, and was a health care worker at Presbyterian Hospital. I enjoy understanding the needs of families and helping people. I am very passionate about improving homecare, and committed to making a difference in people lives.

In addition to running Genesa Home Care, I have a 3-year-old disabled grandnephew who I care for.  My grandnephew was born with Hydrocephalus, which is a condition in which the primary characteristic is excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain.  On February 28 2015, my grandnephew had a massive seizure that left him with brain damage because his shunt had failed.  While at the hospital, we were told that it was just a matter of time, but that my grandnephew was not going to come out of this.
